The BAPP is a TECNIO multidisciplinary research center that develops scientific activities and services in the fields of neurosciences, pharmacology, peptide chemistry and bioanalytics associated with the development of new medicines for human and veterinary use.
The vision of the BAPP is to become a reference center in Catalonia and one of the best specialized centers in Europe to support academic research, the pharmaceutical and food industry in the identification of new therapeutic targets for the treatment of rare diseases that cause intellectual disability, psychiatric diseases, addiction to drugs of abuse, eating disorders and infectious diseases in veterinary medicine
The BAPP (BioAnalysis, Proteomics and Pharmacology) is made up of the Integrative Pharmacology and Systems Neuroscience Group (FINS), coordinated by Dr. Rafael de la Torre (IMIM), the Doping control Research Group, coordinated by Dr. Rosa Ventura (IMIM), and the Proteomics Group, coordinated by Dr. David Andreu (UPF). The Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) was founded in 1990 and it is distinguished by the Ministry of Education as a Campus of International Excellence. The Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) is a health research institute accredited by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III.
The BAPP is a TECNIO center, a brand from the Generalitat de Catalunya which identifies expert technological centers and university groups involved in applied research and technology transfer in Catalonia. TECNIO brings together the best Technological and Research Centers from the Catalan universities. The aim of the groups that make up the TECNIO structure is to increase the transfer of technology from the university to industry.
